Best curry house in the country by far! Incredible atmosphere, amplified by our party if I do say so myself!

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant. The staff were attentive and handled everything with great care—they even warmed the plates for my lemon rice and lamb tikka korma, which was a thoughtful touch. After the meal, they offered a warm wet towel and surprised me with a complimentary birthday cake when I mentioned I was traveling to the Lake District for my birthday. There was a small hiccup with the bill—it should have been 24.70, and I asked them to round it to 25 as a tip. However, I was accidentally charged 35. I chose to view it optimistically, as covering the food, service, and a generous tip altogether. Despite that, the overall experience, service, and atmosphere were wonderful. It was absolutely worth dining here.

Tonight, a group of nine of us visited Lake Raj Indian Restaurant for a double birthday celebration, and I have to say that it was a fantastic evening from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive, ensuring our evening was nothing short of perfect. The service was efficient and not rushed, allowing us to enjoy the occasion without feeling pressured. As for the food – simply outstanding! Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The menu offered a fantastic selection, catering to all tastes, and each dish was cooked to perfection. From the rich and aromatic curries to the fresh, perfectly spiced starters. The portions were generous, and you could tell the ingredients were of top quality. A huge thank you to the team at Lake Raj for making our evening so memorable. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for excellent Indian cuisine, I’d highly recommend this gem of a restaurant. We’ll definitely be back!

I dont understand any negative reviews. The staff were friendly, food was very tasty and very reasonably priced. Two of us ate here and had more food than we could eat, with a bottle of wine for less than 80 quid. Can’t complain at that, especially as its central lake district. Will come here again.
